RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Your internet may be going a bit slower than usual today, because of one of the largest cyberattacks in the history of the internet.
You may have noticed the issue while trying to surf the web or access Netflix. The issue stems from a series of attacks started eight days ago in Holland when a company called Cyberbunker was blacklisted for sending out spam.
In retaliation, the company started what experts say is the largest computer attacks in history, taking down servers and clogging the internet worldwide. These attacks are five times larger than the ones that took down major American banks.
The only way to stop them is to actually arrest the people responsible at Cyberbunker. However, the company brags on it's website that "Dutch authorities and the police have made several attempts to enter the bunker by force. None of these attempts were successful."
