No jail time for Henrico woman who killed scooter driver

HENRICO, VA (WWBT) -

A woman found guilty of killing a man on a scooter in Henrico will not serve jail time.

Jean Scott, 77, was found guilty Tuesday of hitting and killing Joshua McDaniel, 25, in October, reports the Richmond Times-Dispatch. She received a $250 fine, and her entire month-long jail sentence was suspended.

Several cars had stopped on Laburnum Avenue to avoid hitting McDanieln when he fell off his scooter, according to testimony. Scott bypassed those stopped cars, and hit McDaniel, according to the Times-Dispatch.
