Three sergeants at Fort Lee are splitting a $1 million Powerball jackpot.
The three soldiers were one number away from the $320 million prize in Saturday's drawing. Staff Sergeants Nathan Sutherland, David Jenkins and Sergeant First Class Robert Gallow matched the first five numbers, missing only the Powerball number.
"We still can't believe it!" Sgt. Sutherland said as the three presented the winning ticket to Virginia Lottery officials.
Tobacco Zone in Hopewell sold the winning ticket and received a $10,000 bonus from the Lottery.
The three sergeants are members of Tango Company, 266th Quartermaster Battalion, U. S. Army Quartermaster School, Combined Arms Support Command at Fort Lee, Virginia.
