David HolleyStudents at a Chesterfield high school are taking action to try and keep a beloved band teacher.
And now, they're getting some help from a guitar virtuoso. Mark Kroos gained YouTube fame with his amazing musical skills, but now he has a new video on YouTube, aiming to help Thomas Dale students in their effort to keep their band director, David Holley, at the school.
Kroos recorded a video plea on the students behalf, supporting a petition to keep Mr. Holley from being transferred within the district. The petition currently has nearly 700 signatures and the kids hope the video and the petition will help their cause.
Chesterfield officials say they can't comment on Holley, specifically. However, they say no one is losing their job, though they do move staff around every year based on student enrollment at each individual school.
Holley says he's thankful for the support, but not making any public comments just yet.
