A 2-month-old baby is out of the hospital and recovering well after being shaken by a Chesterfield babysitter, according to police.
The child was shaken so severely, it had to be taken to the hospital with multiple brain bleeds and an eye hemorrhage. Ashley Pigg faces a number of charges for the crime, but is now out on $10,000 bond.
Pigg was a regular caregiver for the victim at her home on Hartford Lane, until the incident in January. Police say Pigg confessed to taking the fussy baby out of a swing and shaking it.
While the baby is recovering well, any long term damage won't be clear for some time.
