VCU pep band and Rodney the Ram appear on Today Show

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

The VCU men's basketball team plays in the A-10 Tournament in Brooklyn Friday night, but Rams fans are already making their presence known in the Big Apple.

The VCU pep band made a surprise appearance on the Today Show Friday morning. The Peppas, as they are better know, were seen and heard blasting some popular songs frequently heard inside the Siegel Center.

The band and bus appearance on the Today Plaza caught the NBC anchors by surprise. Weatherman Al Roker can be seen jamming with Rodney, the VCU mascot.

VCU plays St. Joseph's Friday at 6:30 p.m. NBC12's Marc Davis is in Brooklyn covering the Rams.

He will have the latest highlights on the men's basketball team Friday on NBC12 at 11.
