NBC12 Tests new GRTC app - NBC12.com - Richmond, VA News

If you ride a GRTC bus, as they say, there's an app for that. The transit system now has a new on-the-go app for your iPhones, iPads and Androids to connect you to your ride.

The new tool let's you know how long it will take for the bus to get to your stop, allows you to locate nearby stops and gives you service updates:

"On a good day, you'll know where you're going, when you're going to get there," said frequent rider LaVerne Sauls. "On a bad day you'll know the same thing. Smart phones just be smart."

NBC12 tested the app Thursday. We found the estimated arrival times were relatively on target.

This is just the first generation of the tool. GRTC plans to add other features to make riding even easier.
