West End crash sends pedestrian and driver to hospital

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

Two people were taken to the hospital Monday morning after an SUV crashed into a fence in the West End. 

It happened around 1 a.m. near the intersection of Hungary Road and Fairlake Lane, not far from the Springfield Road intersection.

Henrico Police say a driver hit a man walking on Hungary Road and then crashed into a fence.

The pedestrian has life-threatening injuries. Police say the driver should be able to recover from his injuries.

Police are still investigating what caused this crash.
