Financial Literacy Curriculum Development Experts Sought by the NFEC

The National Financial Educators Council set to expand their curriculum development team and seeks qualified individuals with an expertise in K - 6th grade, teen and adult education.

The NFEC seeks qualified individuals with specialized skills in curriculum development to expand their current staff. Three separate candidates are sought that have an expertise in K – 6th grade, teen and adult education.

The NFECs’ financial literacy curriculum and training programs have been designed by a team of financial professionals and educators to meet core educational standards while offering the ‘real world’ knowledge to help youth prepare for the financial realities of life. The NFEC updates the financial literacy lesson plans on an annual basis to incorporate timely information that can impact ones finances. The financial literacy curriculum jobs available for this year’s update include:

  •     Curriculum for kids project. The NFEC seeks an education expert that has extensive personal financial knowledge. This three month job opportunity is scheduled to start mid June 2013. The current lessons plans will be expanded to include specific training for each grade level K – 6th.    Qualified candidates should have a solid understanding of these age groups, curriculum development experience and a passion for making personal finance lessons fun and engaging.

  •     Curriculum for teens project. The NFEC seeks a high school or college level educator with an expertise in project based learning development. Successful candidates will have real world financial knowledge and curriculum development experience. They will modify a proven training program to include a comprehensive project based learning components. This two week project will begin in May.

  •     Curriculum for adults project. An adult financial education expert that has extensive knowledge of advance investing and estate planning is sought to finalize the 2013 update of the adult coursework. This project is scheduled to begin immediately and will take about 2 weeks to complete.

The select individuals will work with the NFEC’s Curriculum Advisory Board. The Board is comprised of: financial advisors, Realtors, mortgage specialists, debt experts, personal finance professionals, and educators to ensure participants are being taught ‘real world’ knowledge that help them prepare for the financial realities of life.
