Breckenridge Apartment fire (Source: Whitney Grant)HENRICO, VA (WWBT) -
A 2-alarm fire in Henrico's West End is now under control, but crews are still on scene to investigate the cause of the fire.
The call came in around 9 p.m. for a chimney fire at the Breckenridge apartment complex in the 4000 block of Mineral Springs Lane. Crews arrived to find heavy smoke from the rear of the complex.
12 fire trucks were called to the scene. Officials were able to evacuate 18 of the 19 complexes, but they say the fire was too intense, and the roof was beginning to collapse, so firefighters were unable to search the final complex, where the fire is believed to have originated.
