Courtesy: Angela Duncan ScarberryIn the hours after Virginia State Police confirmed the murder of Master Trooper J. A. Walker, a citizen took to the street with the Virginia state flag to pay tribute to the fallen law enforcement officer.
Angela Duncan Scarberry sent in the picture to the NBC12 Facebook account late Thursday evening. NBC12 shared it and it immediately went viral.
The picture shows the citizen holding the flag at the corner of Route 1 where traffic was being detoured, in view of officers dealing with the incident. Scarberry says she got her son works as a volunteer firefighter and snapped the picture as he was leaving the scene.
However, neither she nor her son know who the man is or had more details about the story behind the touching picture. If you know more about the tribute, please email newsroom@nbc12.com.
