WASHINGTON, D.C. (WWBT) -
Spending cuts have been the talk of D.C. These last few days, but one Virginia senator decided to help two people spend the rest of their lives together via Twitter.
Brett Wannamaker asked Virginia Senator Mark Warner if he could take over his Twitter account yesterday evening. Adelson is Senator Warner's press secretary.
The senator agreed.
Brett then asked his girlfriend, Beth Adelson, to marry him.
Brett decided to tweet his proposal because he said Adelson pays more attention to the senator's Twitter feed than her own.
By the way, she said yes.
