People warned to be cautious of debris and ice on roads

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

Wet and icy conditions are forcing people to drive carefully while heading to bus stops and schools Thursday morning.

Neighborhood roads may be the most dangerous throughout the morning as some may have not been plowed as of yet. People on these roads are also dealing with black ice and slush which must be treated with caution.

The biggest problems could actually come from driveways and steps that may still be icy and could cause people to slip.

VDOT crews are warning people to use caution around downed trees and power lines in the area. They say people can expect some delays in areas where utility workers are treating those as well as the power outages.

Main roads, on the other hand, are mostly clear, but officials still warn people to watch for black ice on wet roads.
