Two teens shot in back overnight on Richmond's north side

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

Richmond and Henrico Police are investigating two shootings involving teenagers only blocks away from each other.

Both teens were taken to the hospital overnight. Henrico and Richmond Police are working together to solve this crime since both shootings occurred near the Richmond-Henrico line.

Both teens were shot in the back on Delmont Street at the Delmont Village Apartments, near Richmond International Raceway. Police found one teen in a stairwell in the Delmont apartments complex, but they found the other half a mile away in another apartment complex in Engleside Court, other side of East Laburnum Avenue.

The first victim told police he was robbed. Richmond Police say that second victim couldn't remember if someone put him in a car and drove him away.

The two people shot are 17 and 18-years-old. They're at VCU Medical Center, but there's been no word on their conditions.
