MIDLOTHIAN, VA (WWBT) -
Chesterfield Fire is on the scene of a house fire out near Woodlake.
Officials tell us this all started at 3:19 p.m. Saturday in the fireplace of a home in the 13,900 block of Bayport Landing Road. That's off Hull Street Road.
Witnesses reported flames coming from the chimney. We are told the fire spread to the roof and caused significant damage to the attic and a bathroom.
At least one person was home, but made it out safely. That person now has to stay somewhere else. Some nearby streets had to be blocked off for a short time.
The cause is under investigation.
