Darton downs South Ga. Tech to advance to Region 17 championship

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The Darton Lady Cavs started the game on a 12-2 run and was able to hold off rival South Ga. Tech 70-60 to advance to the Region XVII championship. 

Darton had four players in double figures.  Michelle Mitchell lead Darton with 18 points.  Iesha Bonner just missed a double double with 10 points and 9 rebounds.  South Georgia Tech out scored Darton 34-30 in the second half.  Portia McCray led all scorers with 20 points. 

The Lady Cavs will play Chattahoochee Tech in the Region XVII finals on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Cavalier Arena.
