Lt. Governor Bill Bolling is asking voters and business leaders in Richmond a question.
He wants to know if he should run for governor. Bolling sent an e-mail survey to potential supporters.
Bolling said he will make a final decision in two weeks.
A recent poll showed Democratic contender, Terry Mcauliffe, and Republican candidate Ken Cuccinelli are virtually tied.
If Bolling decides to run, he could make a big impact in the race.
