Westwood,Crisp girls advance

MACON, GA (WALB) -

The Westwood Lady Wildcats are hoping the third time is the charm.

After losing in their last two state championship game appearances in Class A , Westwood will play Arlington Christian for the GISA AA state title on Saturday.

Westwood knocked off defending state champion Gatewood 62-43.

Arlington Christian overcame a one point deficit to beat Terrell Academy in the other AA semifinal 59-42.

It ends a streak of six straight championship game appearances for the Lady Eagles.

In Class A, Crisp Academy is one win away from a third straight state title.

The Lady Wildcats buried Curtis Baptist 62-24.

Junior Madi Mitchell paced Crisp with 26 points.

Citizens Christian will try to knock off Crisp Academy in Saturday's Class A state championship game.

The Patriots from Douglas beat Georgia Christian 42-30.

Kyndal Day led Citizens with 12 points.
