Richmond Public Schools will unveil a budget Wednesday night that cuts administrative jobs and closes two schools.
School officials worked for two months deciding what to cut, and teachers may have dodged a bullet.
The goal was to keep cuts as far away from the classroom as possible. The new budget that will be unveiled at City Hall at 6 p.m. may do just that.
We could see two schools with low student enrollment close down, though we don't know which ones those will be.
Cuts are also likely to come from the people who run the schools from behind desks, not from teachers in class. $3 million in cuts will come from slashing office jobs. That was done to keep up teacher morale and protect class sizes.
