Family offers cash reward for missing Petersburg man

Relatives are offering a cash reward for anyone who can help find 25-year-old Deonta Harrison, who police say disappeared while walking on Dunlop Street near his home in Petersburg.

Family and friends have spent the last couple of weeks searching for him, creating posters and trying to raise awareness.

"We are not giving up," said Brenda Harrison. "We can't give up because I need him."

That's the attitude for Deonta Harrison's mom, brothers and family here today.

"People can't sleep, people can't eat, people can't do nothing," said brother, Curtis Harrison.

What they can do is plea for answers into Deonta's disappearance.

"My children are my life," Brenda Harrison said. "My family is my life. I need my son to come home."

Brenda Harrison says her son never came home after meeting up with a couple friends in the early morning hours of February 10t Family says Deonta was giving them a dirt bike at the time. They had met on Dunlop Street near his home in Petersburg. An older brother didn't mention what happened during that encounter, but it was the last time anyone saw Deonta.

"You're around friends then you come up missing - that's a big coincidence," said Curtis Harrison.

Since then, Curtis and others close to the family have been searching all over town -in wooded areas and neighborhoods to find Deonta.

"Anywhere the wind blows that's where we look," Harrison noted.

He's even made T-shirts, posters, and a facebook page hoping others will help.

"Somebody just come forward and say something," Harrison urged. "They don't have to say who did it, where they did it, or what happened. All I want to know is where I have to go to get it."

Police have no new updates in the investigation. However, they did say Harrison is wanted for several charges including felony grand larceny, misdemeanor assault and battery - and misdemeanor obstruction.
