Estranged husband sentenced to life for murder of beauty school student

HANOVER, VA (WWBT) -

A Hanover man who murdered a beauty school student will spend life in prison.

Ryan Markham will serve two life sentences, plus eight for commission of a felony with a firearm, for the death of his estranged wife, Sabrina, and injuring her boyfriend on June 2, 2012.

Sabrina was shot 11 times. Her boyfriend was shot six times.

Before the sentence was handed down, Ryan Markham took the stand and apologized. Sabrina's family says they feel relieved, but added this crime never had to happen in the first place.

Sabrina was a mother of two boys.
