Texarkana, Texas Police say a man who forced his way into a house with an armed guest was later arrested after seeking medical attention for his gunshot wound.
The incident happened about 10:30 p.m. Sunday at a residence in the 2000 block of Wood Street, where police say the homeowner told them about how two masked males had forcefully entered her home and ordered everyone to lie on the floor.
Both intruders appeared to be armed with handguns.
But police say a visitor at the house, identified as Troy Johnson, was able to get a weapon already inside the house. When one of the men moved close to him, Johnson allegedly fired several times at the intruder.
The two armed intruders then ran from the house.
As officers still investigated at the house, a person at Wadley Hospital notified them of a person who had come to the hospital seeking medical attention for a gunshot wound to his arm.
Later, police arrested Davonte Willis, 18, of Memphis, Tenn., and charged him with burglary of a habitation. He was booked into the Bi-State Justice Center. His bond has not been set.
Police have not filed charges against Johnson.
As the investigation continues, authorities ask that anyone with information about the incident cal Texarkana Crime Stoppers at 903-793-STOP.
