Parts of Central Virginia may hear a loud rumbling over once again Thursday night, due to ongoing military training.
Complaints of low-flying helicopters in the middle of the night came pouring into the NBC12 newsroom Thursday. Two CH53 Echo Super Stallion helicopters from Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point in North Carolina were headed to Quantico for training, according to Marine officials. They also traveled back to North Carolina last night.
Although, Quantico can't confirm the exact path the helicopters traveled last night, they say it's reasonable to assume the helicopters Central Virginia heard last night were the helicopters involved in the training in the Fredericksburg area.
More importantly, the training will happen again tonight. The helicopters are expected to arrive in Quantico around 9 p.m.
