
The Virginia Beach Animal Care and Adoption Center is under investigation, following the death of a pit bull in an outdoor dog run.
Virginia Beach Police said a shelter employee let a 10-year-old dog, named Batman, outside Sunday afternoon. The dog was left outside overnight, in temperatures that ranged from 21 to 32 degrees.
Police say a volunteer found the dog, close to lunchtime the next day. Two employees tried to revive batman but he was already dead.
