HENRICO, VA (WWBT) -
A Henrico man is charged with child neglect after police found a 4-year-old boy home alone in a West End apartment on Dalewood Drive.
Henrico police say 30-year-old Daniel Atkinson was caring for the child at the time. When police arrived, they also found marijuana at the home and charged Atkinson with possession of drugs.
The child's mother said that although this was a mistake and she was upset her son was left alone, she believes Atkinson is a good father-figure to her children and that they are going to work things out.
