Henrico father accused of I-64 hit & run

State police say a father is at fault for a case of road rage that put his own daughter in danger.

John Crow is with two felonies, one is a hit and run charge, the other is for child endangerment because troopers say his daughter was in the car with him when it happened.

But NBC12 finds out, this isn't the first time he's been in trouble with the law. Court documents that go back 10 years document numerous charges of domestic abuse and violence, but this incident seems to be the most severe.

This weekend on Interstate 64 in the Sandston area, State Police say Crow went after a car his ex-wife was riding in.

Witnesses tell troopers crow ran his truck into the other car multiple times, running them off the road then he took off. Later troopers say they found out Crow's 13-year-old daughter was in the car the entire time, but she was not injured.  But troopers say Crow's ex-wife and another passenger were not so lucky. They were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Court records that go back a decade include a number of emergency protective orders against him, filed by several different women - including his mother. In it, she writes that she is "…in fear of her safety, because her son drinks excessively and becomes very violent."  In another protective order, a woman writes that Crow beat her and wouldn't let her leave. It says she has "multiple choke marks and bruises."

Those court records also show crow has been in and out of jail, charged with domestic abuse.

State police say this investigation is still ongoing. Crow's next court date is in April.
