A dog was found shot in the head on the front porch of a Surry County home.
The dog, named Leah, was found on the doorstep of a home belonging to a worker at Dogs Deserve Better, according to WAVY.com. The worker for the national nonprofit organization rushed the dog to a veterinary hospital.
The vet said there is a trail of bullet fragments from Leah's snout where she was shot all the way to her spinal chord.
Right now, the main concern now is an infection.
But there is good news: Leah was recently reunited with her owner.
