Spiders survive Bonnies in overtime

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Junior Cedrick Lindsay tied a career-high with 22 points and senior Greg Robbins scored a career-high 20 as Richmond defeated St. Bonaventure 83-80 in overtime.

The Spiders (15-11, 5-6 Atlantic 10) led by 13 in the second half, but St. Bonaventure came back to force overtime.

Lindsay and Robbins both had buckets early in overtime as the Spiders improved to 13-2 at home this season and a perfect 4-0 in overtime.

Robbins made 7-of-8 field goals and all four three-point attempts as he topped his previous career-high of 15 points against Rutgers last season.

Lindsay matched a Robins Center record, making a perfect 14-of-14 free throws. Former Spiders Daryl Oliver and Tony Dobbins had also each made 14 free throws without a miss.

Freshman Terry Allen scored eight points, grabbed eight rebounds, had four assists and two steals, including a big one in overtime that helped seal the victory for the Spiders.

Sophomore Kendall Anthony scored 10 points, making 3-of-4 three-pointers and junior Derrick Williams scored nine points, connecting on 4-of-7 field goals. Senior Darien Brothers added eight points.

The win was much-need for the Spiders, as they had fallen in four of their previous five contests entering Saturday.

Richmond has a week off before playing at Fordham next Saturday at 1:00pm.  The Spiders are 0-5 in Atlantic 10 road games this season.
