Chesterfield Police are investigating a violent home invasion. Ceydria McRay said three men kicked in her front door while she was home alone with her two children.
This happened just after 8 p.m. on Ruthwin Lane not far from the Meadowdale shopping center on Hopkins Road.
"He pointed his gun just like this time me and my 7-month-old son and he was like where the money at, that's all he kept saying, where the money at money at, and I'm like, sir, what money," said McRay.
McRay said he was holding an assault rifle. The chaos was heightened by the house alarm.
"He's walking me to this alarm system right here in the kitchen with the gun to my back just like this walking, so I'm scrambling to push the code to get it off, my alarm would not shut off, I looked back to him and said, you guys need to get out here because the police are going to come my alarm is not going to cut off, that's when the other guy at the door that was holding my son down he took his hand off my son's mouth and my son said mommy why are they trying to kill us, can we please play hide and seek," said McRay.
Terrified by the home invasion, McRay said she rented a U-Haul truck and will be moving out of the neighborhood for good.
"I actually feel like I failed as a mother that's how I really feel to be honest because they didn't just break in my house they took my sense of security," she said.
McRay couldn't see their faces because she said they were covered up, but say all men were wearing black hoodies.
