The battle of how to close a massive school budget gap heats up in Hanover.
According to the Times-Dispatch, some residents are asking county supervisors to raise their property taxes in order to close the gap.
Neighbors told leaders at a meeting Wednesday night they would rather see the property tax raised in order to avoid losing 24 teaching jobs, and avoid having students pay sports and activities fees.
School leaders have until the end of the month to finalize their school budget.
