Suspects on the loose after violent home invasion

Chesterfield Police are looking for two suspects linked to a violent home invasion. The victims are two teenaged boys who were at home while their mom went to a work function.

One boy was attacked and even had to go to the hospital, while thousands of dollars worth of valuables were stolen from the home.

Jevren Swanson said it happened while he was home Tuesday evening. He was playing video games and watching television with his brother and a friend.

Around 7:30 p.m., there was a knock at the door. Swanson opened it up to someone he says he didn't recognize.

Thinking there was some confusion, Swanson went to close the door - but two men forced their way inside.

"There was one with a gun saying 'get down on the ground, get down on the ground,'" said Swanson. "Then another stockier guy came in, punched me in my face and started going through my pockets."

Swanson says the suspects forced the three boys to the ground while they searched the apartment for anything of value.

The crooks stole about $5,000 worth of items - including two laptop computers, an XBox gaming system and a television.

They also ransacked Swanson's apartment and took cash and jewelry.

"They literally had a bag and were ready," said Swanson.

Swanson's mom didn't want to go on camera but says even though she wasn't home at the time of the crime, she's just as traumatized as her boys. She works two jobs and believes her apartment was targeted because she works 70 hours a week and there are valuables in the home.

She says she is going to move her family within the next two weeks and try to find a job that will allow her to be home more.

Chesterfield Police say the first suspect was described as a black male, 20-29 years old, about 5 feet 9 inches tall with a heavy/fat build. He had an afro, a beard and a dark complexion. He was wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

The second suspect was described as a black male, about 5 feet 9 inches tall with a thin/slender build and a light complexion.

If you have any information about this incident, you're urged to call Crime Solvers or Chesterfield Police.
