CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) -

Police say a student has been arrested for having a slew of weapons on campus. Patrick Hailey was arrested after they say police found a gun, four knives, and two box cutters in his car in the school parking lot of Cosby High School.

It's the fourth time weapons have been found on campus in just the last few weeks.
Hailey was arrested Friday last week. Police say a school resource officer saw a cigar in Hailey's car, so investigators searched it. Police say a when they opened the glove box, a silver revolver fell out.

They also reported finding two box cutters and two folding knives that were under 3 inches.

In the trunk, they found two more 8 inch knives. The report says Hailey forgot they were in the car, that he'd just gotten them form his grandfather.

It says the revolver didn't have a cylinder, but was otherwise usable.

The day before, there was another report at Cosby High School, a knife found in a car in the parking lot.

Monday - police revealed Michael O'Berry walked into Davis Elementary with a gun when he went to get a sick child.

There was also a report that an 11-year-old walked into elementary school and a knife fell out of his backpack.

Police say no one was ever threatened in any of the cases, but they are very serious.

"People are paying more attention. They're seeing things, they notify the police," said

Cpt. Jerry Netherland. "They notify staff at the schools. And we investigate those things and completely follow through."

And they point out, possession of a firearm on campus is a felony.

"We take very seriously our responsibility to provide a safe and supportive learning environment that is free from disruption," said Chesterfield Schools Spokesman Shawn Smith. "Students who violate student conduct regulations are subject to suspension and/or expulsion, and, if the offense is a violation of the law, to prosecution."
