New this morning, we could learn if Richmond's Police Chief is here to stay, or on his way out. A major announcement is set for 9am at City Hall. Richmond Mayor Dwight Jones may announce the departure of Chief Bryan Norwood. We will keep you posted.

Happening later this morning, a Maryland man will face a Virginia judge for a preliminary hearing. He's accused of a gruesome murder in Colonial Beach.

Plus, President Obama will give his fourth state of the Union Address tonight and he's expected to address immigration and gun violence. We have a preview.

Also, Roman Catholics here in Central Virginia are weighing in on the sudden resignation of Pope Benedict. He shocked the world yesterday when he announced he is stepping down from the Papacy at the end of the month. The Pope says his strength in recent months has "deteriorated."
