RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -
Opening statements will soon begin in the trial a Richmond man accused in a deadly hit-and-run.
Elias Webb, 31, is accused of hitting and killing Lanie Kruszewski with his SUV. He didn't turn himself in for days, telling police he thought he struck a deer.
Jury selection was completed around noon Monday.
The jurors may see autopsy photos of Kruszewski after she was hit. A judge last week said evidence that Webb was drinking within two hours of the crash could come out, only if Webb takes the stand. That ruling has since changed. If lawyers or witnesses talk about Webb's perception of the night's events, they could say he had a beer and a glass of wine before the hit-and-run.
