Chris Brown's defense team calls accusations "dead wrong"

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

We are getting new details after a hearing today for Chris Brown in Los Angeles.

L.A. prosecutors claim Brown faked his community service hours in and around Richmond.

Chris Brown's defense team has sent us a copy of their opposition papers. We also have a copy of the progress report for Brown's community labor.

The defense team says they have evidence to refute the claims made by the prosecution - and can specifically address the points brought up about Brown's trips to Dubai, Cancun, and D.C.

Meanwhile, Los Angeles prosecutors criticism of the Richmond Police Department's handling of Chris Brown's probation is raising the question about how he was able to get his unusual community service arrangement.

We caught up with the family friend and former captain in the Richmond Police Department accused of helping set up a special deal for Brown.

"Well the story is absolutely ridiculous," said Adrianne Mclemore. "What I saw was him washing police cars and I saw him doing work at the stables just as any other officer that would ride by and see."

Mclemore says she only introduced Brown's mother to Richmond's Police Chief. She has been retired for 3 years.

Mclemore agrees with the latest court filing from Brown's defense team. It cites unsolicited reports from the Richmond Fire Department that Brown "worked his a*# off."

The Richmond Police department also responds to the allegations by highlighting "inaccuracies" in a 4 to 5 bullet point letter.

"You incorrectly stated that as of December 31, 2012 the Richmond Police Department neither documented nor billed for costs incurred in the Departments 'supervision' of the Defendant," noted Victoria Benjamin with the Richmond Police Department. "That statement is false."

The checks are included in the defense team's court documents. The Richmond Police Department also provides some new community service work site agreements that are attached in the documents.

"Once we have had a chance to go into greater detail on the documents we feel certain that the vicious and unwarranted attack on Mr. Brown, The Richmond Police Department, The Richmond Fire Department, and the Los Angeles Probation Department should warrant sanctions against this D.A.'s office," said attorney Mark Geragos.

A judge has scheduled a new hearing for Brown in April.
