A move in the Virginia Senate to offer up an alternative to Governor McDonnell's transportation plan has failed.
That means as the General Assembly moves into cross over day, just one version of the plan remains - one passed by the House with a few minor changes from the governor's initial proposal.
The governor will now have to wrangle all 20 Republicans and at least one Democrat to pass his version of the plan in the Senate.
At this point, the Senate Democrats seem united in their opposition.
