
Lawmakers in the General Assembly want to boost aid when it comes to school safety.
The Richmond Times-Dispatch reports that House and State senate committees have set aside at least $1 million dollars in local aid to help hire school resource officers.
The move is in response to the deadly the school shooting in Sandy Hook Elementary in Connecticut.
