These are small, usually two to three millimeter flesh-colored growths that are harmless.
They can be more common with obesity, but there is also a genetic component and a person may have 50-100 skin tags.
It is not necessary to remove skin tags, but you should talk to your healthcare provider to verify that they are in fact skin tags and not something more serious.
