RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -
Governor McDonnell is enlisting some star power to push his public school grading scale.
Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush is backing the governor's plan to rate schools on an A to F scale. The Sunshine State implemented a similar system when Bush was governor.
He said in a phone conference Friday the scale would be a "simple but profound" change in how the state's schools are rated.
The proposal is expected to be up for a vote in the General Assembly next week.
