There's a final prayer vigil for the beloved Henrico convenience store clerk killed this week set for Friday night.
Farooq Bhimdi was killed in a senseless shooting Tuesday. This vigil will mark an important step for the family.
The Bhimdi family wants to reopen the store and this will be the final way the community comes together to pay tribute to the store owner before that happens.
The store has changed. Right after this place was a crime scene, a plastic sheet covered the front door.
That is gone and when you look inside, you can see roses, teddy bears, cards, and all things neighbors and customers have left here since Tuesday.
All these things show that this was not an everyday clerk.
He was cherished by the community as a friend who came here to find a better life than what he had in Pakistan.
The official vigil is tonight at 6 p.m. That will be at the Expressway Mart, 3500 Mechanicsville Turnpike.
