A 19-year-old is now behind bars in connection with Henrico's first homicide of the year.
Police arrested Jamon T. Burroughs around 11 p.m. Tuesday and charged him with first degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. The charges stem with the death of a convenience store owner, Farooq Bhimdi, Monday night.
Burroughs was arrested just a mile away from the where the shooting occurred, at a home on the 3800 block of Howard Street. At nearly the same hour, 40 people gathered at the murder scene for a candlelight vigil.
Sources told us this was all thanks to good police work, and viewer tips.
