The litter of puppies rescued by Richmond firefighters from an abandoned home are ready for adoption.
Richmond Animal Control took the puppies in to fatten them up and get them ready. Now they are happy, healthy and much bigger than they were just a few weeks ago.
But before they find their forever homes, the puppies were reunited with their rescuers - the firefighters from Engine 11 - who welcomed them with open arms.
"They've gotten so big, they look good, they're healthy. It feels good to be part of a happy ending," said Mark Ryles.
"It's a great feeling knowing that we saved them, and make them fat, as you can see," said Gary Sandridge.
The puppies are considered a lab mix and are ready for adoption. In fact, one of the firefighters in the company has applied to take one of the four-legged friends home.
As for the puppy's mother, she still has not been found.
