Waiting for the snow closing phone call can be agonizing for students and parents alike. So, some Charlottesville kids decided to try and see if they could speed up the process.
It wasn't a rain dance, but rather a snow song that got the attention of Albemarle County Schools Chief Operating Officer.
The students created a musical plea, set to Carly Rae Jepsen's Call Me Maybe, asking C.O.O. Jeff Davis to close their school.
Here's a snippet of the song's lyrics:
"It's hard to overlook
your students' safety.
And I'm just hoping
you'll close school, maybe."
The YouTube video had received nearly 10,000 views by Tuesday morning. Davis didn't call, but according to the video's comments did email Samantha Reid, who posted the YouTube video.
"I love the video! I am receiving a flood of emails, Facebook notifications and tweets from so many people. You are all creative and talented... snow days rule!"
