A Petersburg second grader is proving one person can make a difference.
Paris Mason, a second grader at Walnut Hill Elementary, was so moved by TV reports about the devastation caused by Hurricane Sandy that she started a fund raiser called "Kids Helping Kids."
With her principal's approval she asked students and staff to donate spare change. After two months, Paris raised $1,000.
Tuesday, she will donate the money to the American Red Cross, so it can go to children impacted by the storm.
