CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) -
A man is in custody, accused of trying to rape a woman, early Sunday morning in Chesterfield.
Richard Broaddus, 44, is charged with attempted rape. Police say he attacked a woman in the parking lot of Visions Dance Club, on Koger Center Boulevard, while she was getting something from her car.
Authorities say the victim screamed for help, scaring off her attacker.
Broaddus was detained during a traffic stop, and the woman identified him as her attacker.
