HENRICO, VA (WWBT) -
The push for a new GPA requirement for student athletes in Henrico may start sooner than planned. School leaders want to require student athletes to have a 2.0 GPA or higher in order to play.
Originally, leaders were pushing this rule to fully go in effect for the 2016-2017 school year.
The Richmond Times-Dispatch at a school board meeting Thursday night, school leaders decided they may want the GPA sports rule to go in effect as early as 2014-2015.
