Source: SendItTo12 user khatalaStargazers around the world were wowed Monday night when Jupiter met up with the moon.
The two appeared to be almost touching for part of the night - some in South America were lucky enough to see Jupiter slip behind the moon. This will be closest that the moon and Jupiter will appear relative to each other until the year 2026 for much of the United States.
Jupiter and the moon will have another chance to appear near each other this year on March 17.
