Major budget cuts expected at Richmond School Board meeting

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

We're expected to learn what major cuts may be in store for Richmond Public Schools.

The superintendent will present her budget to the school board Tuesday night. It is expected to include a $12 million to $13 million shortfall.

The new chair says the board will do whatever it can to protect the classroom. That includes avoiding furloughs and teacher cuts.
