HENRICO, VA (WWBT) -
Plans to expand Route 5 traffic from Richmond to eastern Henrico won't be happening soon.
According to the Times-Dispatch, the regional commission that looked at either widening Route 5 or widening New Osbourne Turnpike recently told the city and the county that it will not endorse any plans.
The traffic proposals had faced opposition from Richmond neighborhoods and more rural neighbors in Henrico.
