Good Monday morning it's Gray. Here's a look at some of the stories you will want to catch before you leave the house on 12 News Today.

Happening Today, President Obama will officially begin his second term in office. He will be sworn in at the public ceremony at the National Mall. Today is also Martin Luther King, Junior Day. That means most Federal and state offices are closed. That includes courts and most schools systems are closed. Also, most banks are closed, as well as the stock market and the City of Richmond is not enforcing parking meters today.

In the day ahead, Virginia's Capitol will be packed with hundreds of gun advocates. The Virginia Citizens League will lobby Legislators about gun laws.This comes after hundreds of gun advocates rallied at state capitols around the U.S over the weekend -- protesting the push for tougher gun laws.
